Distressed Blanket Box

A nice sized blanket box handpainted in Old Ochre and Chateau Grey and heavily distressed.

Very useful blanket box made of solid wood, possibly oak with lift up lid. Handpainted in a folk art style with a loosely floral design to three sides and oak leaf design to lid. This very solid box dates from the early 20th Century. Painted in Chateau Grey with design in Old Ochre and then heavily distressed and waxed for an authentic shabby chic look. The inside of the box has been painted in Paloma with handpainted design repeated on inside of lid. Originally had a door to the front also but has been sealed up at some point.
