Victorian Rustic Farmhouse Extending Table
A very pretty hand painted Victorian wind-out kitchen/dining table with an extra leaf and original winding handle.
The table has traditional turned legs with vertical detailing and brass and ceramic castor feet for easy movement.
Painted in French Linen and lightly distressed and waxed for a country farmhouse look.
The table top has been sanded back to reveal the natural grain of the wood and handpainted across one end for a distinctly bespoke look. The edge of the table has also been partially painted to match.
This is an old table with loads of character, there is some slight warping and wear to the top, some scuff scratch marks to the surface which are consistent with age (please see photographs) and add to its rustic farmhouse style character. There are signs of old woodworm in the top - the item has been thoroughly treated as a precaution. The worst of the damage has been concealed by the painted pattern on the top.
The original winding mechanism is intact and in good working order. The central leaf can be removed and the table wound in to create a smaller square table, ideal in a kitchen where space is at a premium. Please note: the table is quite low so would work best with unpadded kitchen chairs. Please check the dimensions below.
Dimensions: 73cm high (60cm to underside of table), 102cm wide, 102cm long extending to 148cm when wound out and additional leaf added
NOTE This listing is for the table only - the chairs and plates etc are shown for illustration purposes only and are NOT included in the sale.
